Islhd Service Agreement

Posted by Josh On September - 24 - 2021

In addition, the two partners help us in kind to promote the common vision of improving the health of the people of Illawarra through research excellence. Since 2014, we have been recognised by the New South Wales (NSW) State Government as an Independent Medical Research Institute (IRM), which allows us to receive funding under the Medical Research Support Programme, run by the Office of Health and Medical Research at the NSW Ministry of Health. Our patron is renowned scientist Dame Bridget Ogilvie (AC, DBE, ScD, FRS, FAA). Current health services remain available, but there will be small changes in access to some services. ISLHD will continue to provide municipal health services from the Wreck Bay Clinic and isLHD Regional Service Centres. The home visiting service is unchanged. Twice-weekly child and family care is offered by the Wreck Bay Clinic. These agreements do not affect the complementary health services provided by the South Coast Medical Service and Aboriginal Corporation or South Coast Women`s Health and Welfare Aboriginal Corporation. The Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development provides communal health services for the Jervis Bay Territory (JBT) under a service agreement with the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD) of the Government of NSW.

IHMRI is strongly committed to the values of justice, diversity and inclusion in defining our employment culture. The Diversity and Inclusion Committee (EDI) was created to advise and advise the executive management team on EDI issues. The EDI Committee is composed of representatives from across the organization, including researchers and associate students, as well as administrative and technical staff. The Committee meets four times a year. Currently, no services are offered by the Jervis Bay Village Community Health Clinic.  +61 2 4221 4333 Associate Professor Bruce Ashford has been appointed Clinical Director of the Illawarra Health and Medical Research Institute in 2021.
